Here are a few good movies that I saw recently

District 9: This was one heck of a sci-fi movie. The music was so uplifting and out of the world. The movie starts out like a documentary and then picks up pace and keeps you on your toes till the end. I wish these guys had put a bit more effort into the marketing of the movie.

Ninja Assassin: I don’t think i have ever seen a martial arts movie or just any movie with so much blood shed. The fights are just lightning fast and I felt like it had a good story too. This is must watch if you like action movies, especially the martial art types.

There are a few more but can’t remember right now. Post em if you know of any good movies. The best ones will get a free about-to-be-written book from exercise biology.

district 9 was amazing, i’m with ya there- only saw a few trailers for this though

ninja assassin was mediocre in my opinion, it doesn’t have that feel to it that most martial arts movies have.
too much blood seems to mask everything else. it stars rain, who is not a martial artist but a pop dancer

“fearless”, a movie starring Jet Li that premiered a couple of years ago is a great movie. brilliant martial arts shows and excellent involved story. You truly a myriad of fighting styles in this one

last movie i saw in theatres was sherlock holmes. overall, very decent movie, the pros being an amazing performance by robert downey jr and jude law, but the story was a bit meh, and camera angles seemed clunky at times

last good movie i saw on video was “the wrestler”. great realism involved, and a good story.

Fearless was really good. I need to watch sherlock holes. I heard some great reviews about it.

Wrestler was great movie. It really showed the dark side of all the lights and glory. Wasn’t that great PR for WWE .

Saw District 9 couple of months ago. Good movie. I love sciences-fiction movies.

I guess I didn’t watch it earlier because I didn’t hear much about the movie. My friend recommended the movie, but I didn’t know it was this good until I saw it.

District 9 was amazing! So different than all the other stuff you see.. it really made you think.

How recent do they have to be?
I know of one amazing movie.. “In bruge” or just “Bruge”, can’t remember. Very funny and dramatic at the same time.. one of the few movies I have seen that has managed to pull that off. I saw it recently.. but I don’t really know when it came out.

If you’re into less dramatic all fun movies, then “sex trip” was pretty good.. I usually don’t like the kind of high school/college stuff.. but this one was pretty funny. also a movie called “young people fucking” which totally sounds like porn, but it isn’t. It’s a movie about different couples having sex and how it goes.. if you like awkward humor this is for you :p

YEah, I’ve seen breaking bad. It’s awesome! At the end of some episodes I’m just sitting there, jaw dropped to the floor, thinking “awesome!”

I saw Predator 3 last night. Not bad, but could have made it a lot better I feel. Broody doesn’t fit the role. He need to pack some muscle mass if he really wants to fight some mofo predators.

Sunset Limited (Tommy Lee Jones and Samuel L Jackson, film based on a play, whole film shot in one room, very good acting)

Sanctum (uncharted cave exploring drama, no monsters involved just human drama)
