I just finished the Deadly medicine book. It is about how the anti-arrythmia drugs that were once considered to life savers were infact one of the deadliest.
It killed more people in America than the vietnam war and we never knew about it. And that’s the reason why they say unless it is tested, all those grand results could be completely wrong. It is also a lesson for all the docs and researchers of how important it is look for outcomes which are clinically important that just surrogate or substitute endpoints in clinical trials.
Read it when you get a chance. It also gives a backstage view of how drugs are approved and studied.
