I’ve read some on this topic, and it is touted by the media that skipping breakfast makes you teh fat

I understand that breakfast does not increase your metabolism, but does it have deleterious effects on the body? Alan argues for Breakfast in his site:

I always believed that as long as you count your cals, it wouldn’t matter if you skipped breakfast or not - skipping breakfast only negatively impacts appetite

I ask this question because I skip breakfast a couple times a week, pop ephedrine/caffiene instead, and go on a walk for an hour or two (low intensity fasted cardio) or so before eating something

You are right. It’s all about calories. Some people get those insulin spikes if they skip breakfast and eat a ton later in the day. Some don’t.

And it makes sense to start you day with some good food than later in the day when you are about to go to bed and take rest.

Check out Martin’s Leangains.com about intermittent fasting

I think the big picture is take in less than you spend and you will lose wt/fat. Yet, I prefer to think of it in meal to meal. If I have a big meal that is more than I spend caloricly in the next few hrs., than I did not lose fat. On the other hand the opposite is true as well. So, if I screwed up and cheated the day is not blown for our body does not do a sum total at the end of the day and decide to cash out. LOL
