A common believe that slow digestive carbs are better as energy source, except the cases then I need the energy fast and I’m in fasted state(early morning training)

Is there really any differences from where I got my energy?

Nope. Finally everything gets broken down to glucose and ATP.

Since fast carbs digest faster , there is a sudden release of glucose int the blood stream which is followed by a rapid insulin spike. This causes the glucose to shuttle into the muscles rapidly and thereby causing the blood sugar levels to come down and in turn triggering all sorts of low blood sugar symptoms(called rebound hypoglycemia).

Your welcome.

Yes sir. I think there are lot of people who think of it as good carbs and bad carbs. And even if it is fast carbs, if you eat with some protein and fat, it becomes slow! If you eata lot of good carbs, it becomes fast because of the amount of carbs. So the concept of low and high GI or fast and slow carbs is all messed up.

I thought the idea of low GI or GL foods was to keep insulin levels low, yet at the end of the day it’s really about energy taken in vs. out, yes?

As far as gaining weight or not it will all be about energy. But if your goal is to avoid disease, then I would definitely try and limit my intake of fast carbs. But, as has been said, if it’s fast or not depends on how much you eat and what you eat it with.

I don’t think there is anything conclusive about eating high GI will get you disease. And what diseases are you talking about? Most people eat some protein and fat anyways with their meals and thereby essentially making it a low GI food. .

There is a possibility that you might get insulin resistant , but that’s just a hypothesis. I think it’s far from being proven or conclusive.
