Check this: http://nicktumminello.com/2010/11/correcting-posture-myth-or-reality/

I wrote this article like 5 yrs back and it is still making people think. When I wrote the article , I felt people would grab onto the concept in a few years.

That’s an interesting article.  I didn’t know you had written articles other than those on your own website.  It might be a good idea to link to those from the main site, what do you think?

What did you make of Nick’s conclusion?

“The best posture is one that’s always changing! The body doesn’t do well with sitting/standing still in any position”

I’ve found this to be accurate for me in avoiding back pain.

Thanks for the comment. Not too many. I have those on my About Page. This article was really groundbreaking and it didn’t get too much attention at that time. Maybe it was too much for people and it went against everything people were preaching about. And i dint bother spreading the article either. Now there is more evidence for how the biomechanical model of pain is weak.

Acute pain is easy. You take rest and the tissues heal and you are back to work. Chronic pain is a beast. The tissues probably healed long back , but people are nursing pain for years and years. Why is that?  It is because the pain is from the nervous system (brain) and not the muscles or bones or whatever. So the best you can do is lower the threat level in the brain. And how do you do that? MOVEMENT!

I know it’s complicated. I have talked about this in this forum before.
