I think two studies now have actually found “deep squats” (parallel) to be more effective at increasing vertical jump height than quarter squats.

More and more evidence suggests that squatting to at least parallel is good for adaptations.

This material and some other studies has caused me to change my metabolic training model, emphasizing more the stretch/long length part of a repetition. Staying within this range seems to promote more rapid occlusive effects. Squats done from the bottom to about half way up with some isometric holds, eliminating most of the top of the exercise, is quite stimulating.

I think lot of what you say is technique driven so it is going to help a lot.
