i either hear really good things about it or really bad things
so the question is: is it beneficial in the bodybuilding diet and how much (g/day) can you take?

soy is a good source of protein.Maybe no the best compared to meat protein.

The issue with soy is that is has phytoestrogens. Phytoestrogens basically mimics female estrogen and can lower testosterone. levels. But this only happens in very high levels. If you have all your protein from soy, you might see some testosterone lowering effect.

I just read the new article on Men’s health about soy protein. And that’s exactly the problem with men’s health and other magazines. Take a case study involving one person make a 5 page long article which sounded every bit like soy is going to shrink your balls. That’s not how research works.

Most of the studies were done in rats and the studies did in humans had some methodological issues. A recent meta-analysis showed no decline of Testosterone or Free testosterone with soy protein.
